“La casa dei Nonni” ad Apricale
Taking its name from Grandfather Giuà, much loved and well known in all of Apricale so that the Bed and Breakfast is now known by the affectionate nickname of ‘the house of the grandparents’. Da Giuà, offers 2 double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, satellite TV and central heating and with lovely views of the valley that surrounds the property. The wooden beams of the vaulted ceilings, the majestic fireplace, the kitchen – mirror of an ancient world that seems to have disappeared – make this place an ideal place to spend relaxing weekends for young people, couples and families in contact with nature and the old traditions. Special guest and mascot in the gentle Lennie! The rooms are tastefully furnished with a mix of modern and antique, are spacious and comfortable and give a pleasant feeling of relaxation and tranquillity. Both bedrooms have ceilings with exposed beams and walls with pastel colors that provide an immediate sensation of well-being and relaxation. The warm welcome of the Pisano family will do the rest. The beautiful view from the windows, showing olive groves and unspoiled nature, completes the atmosphere. The silence that reigns is priceless, punctuated only by the rhythms of a life that still maintains its traditions. In the morning, the only sounds are those of the crowing of the cock, while the bells mark the hours and the main events of the village.
Breakfast is served in a room overlooking the scenic main square of the village – the heart of the village – and during the summer months under a portico directly overlooking it. The smell of the wonderful homemade cakes and tarts will help to reawaken you after a good night’s sleep.
Emma’s room, on the first floor, immediately offers the guests a warm welcome with the fire in the cosy hearth. It recreates a romantic atmosphere of antique traditions with a modern touch. The wooden ceiling and fine furniture do the rest. From here you can see the wide expanse of hills covered in olive groves and are immersed in the countryside that surrounds us, while listening to the babbling brook that immediately invokes absolute relaxation.
Situated on the second floor, with a splendid, unspoilt view of the countryside that surrounds the village. The warm colours of the walls and the wooden-beamed ceiling combined with the songs of the frogs in summer and of the birds in winter provide a sanctuary away from the chaotic rhythms of the city.
